Basement Redo - cont'd
11/7/05

View from unfinished space showing framing around bath and new room doors - before dropped ceiling was installed.

New toilet and vanity.

Opening next to toilet is unfinshed and provides access to the house main drain, some plumbing, and outside faucet turn-off.  Hidden by bi-fold closet door.

Bath showing dropped ceiling, recessed lighting, and sconce.  Exhaust fan also has a light, which in hindsight, really wasn't necessary - the recessed and sconce lights provide loads of light.

There will be a small cabinet on back wall to hold bathroom essentials.  Towel bar will be on wall opposite toilet/vanity.

Better view of sconce light.

There will be a mirror over vanity.

Dropped ceiling and recessed light in hall.

Linen closet with bi-fold doors.

My lovely lit closet!  I love it!  Such a small thing, but feels like such a luxury.

Shelving location still to be determined.

View from new room showing framing removed from rec room door in preparation for the wallboard guy to finish.  It will just be an entry doorway, no framing.

Initially, all the bi-fold doors were to be louvered.  The contractor mistakenly bought solid instead and would have exchanged them with no problem, but we decided that the solid doors looked pretty good and would definitely be easier to keep clean, so we kept them.

The new room carpeting will hopefully be installed by the the end of this week and then we'll begin the task of choosing what will go on the rest of the floor.
