Basement Completed

We have umpteen different size beds in our house - twin, double and queen, a sofa bed, and a couple of different size Aero beds.  This is my bonus linen closet in the hall to store all the extra blankets, quilts, comforters, throws, and pillows needed for said beds when the kids come home or we have company.  As you can see, I wasted no time in filling it up.

Since it's a multi-purpose/play  room, the closet holds puzzles, games, toys and toy chest for the kids, and will also be used for out-of-season clothes storage.  (the roll of carpet is left over from carpeting the room - it'll go elsewhere.)

Don't know if it will stay this way, but it works for now; Lew can sit a spell and comfortably watch his beloved sports shows when I've commandeered the TV in the family room.

Lew's computer table - the man needs a desk! - and the new TV/TV stand.  There's obviously more furnishing to be done in here - curtains, table, lighting, pictures - but the boys enjoyed 'their' room when they were here for Thanksgiving.

And of course, our resident nosy beastie boy has to make sure he's included in any picture-taking activities. :)

This will be a great view when the dogwood and azaleas are in bloom next Spring.

The new cabinet, finally complete with all four drawers, and the same nosy beast.  Accessory colors are peach and coral.  The pictures are contemporary-styled flowers and blocks of peachy/coral colors.

Picture over the potty says "Powder Room" and shows roses and a basket filled with pretties.

I plan to put a pretty basket (if I ever find the one I want) filled with rolled washcloths, lotion, smell goods and such on the tank top.

A view of the infamous toilet paper holder. . .

a much better close-up view shows how easily the TP can come off.

Close-up of one of the sconce lights.  All the fixtures - lights, faucet, towel bar, and TP holder - are done in brushed nickel and chrome finishes.

So, this is what's been keeping us busy these last many weeks.  Other than a bit more furnishings and some odds and ends in the bath, I'm declaring these rooms done . . . and we are pleased!  Next will be painting, some upgrading, and replacing the floor in the adjoining family room.
