Basement Redo

View from unfinished portion of basement, looking towards back of the house.

Partial view of new room - opening to left of new room doorway is linen closet.

Storage shelving will be installed on wall shown.  There will be an oversized  door into the unfinished portion.

View of linen closet, sans shelves, as you walk through existing rec room door.

Existing rec room door will be removed.  There will be a small hall with door to the left entering unfinished part of basement and doors to the right entering new room and 1/2-bath.

Closet will have louvered bi-fold door and is 2.5' W x 2.5' D.

View of 1/2-bath, with new room  visible to the left.

Bath will have a dropped ceiling (allowing access to house plumbing) with two recessed lights in main part of room and an exhaust fan/light combo at far end.

Hall will have dropped ceiling and two recessed lights.

Left view of 1/2-bath.  Wall pipe is where toilet will be.  There will be a tiny access closet to the house main drain on the other side of toilet.

Hole in wall is where a sconce light will go (one on each side)

Right side of bath; pipes show where vanity will be.

This room will have vinyl flooring.  Room is approximately 5' x 8'.

New room, side/back wall - a multi-purpose Lew's office, exercise, grandkids room.

This room will have carpeting.  Room is approximately 10' x 11'.

New room, opposite side/back wall.  Room is wired for computer/telephone/TV lines and overhead light and/or fan.

New room front wall and almost my favorite part - a large, lighted storage closet!!  (approximately 2.5'D x 7'W.)

Will have two louvered bi-fold doors.

Another view of new room/closet.

View of hall from new room.  To the left of the existing rec room door, between it and the bathroom wall, there will be another small storage closet with bi-fold door, about 2.5' W x 1' D.  (We're trying to utilize every bit of available space.)

Flooring in hall will eventually match rec room floor (when we get around to replacing it!) which will probably be laminate flooring.

So, there you have it.  Since I don't usually do colored walls, all new rooms will be painted in Duron's White Shadow for now.  Color and texture will be provided by accessories.
